COURTLANDT GATES

President and Founder

Courtlandt Gates is the President and Founder of Vesper Investment Company. Mr. Gates has a broad business background. Mr. Gates arranged interest rate and currency swaps in New York and Tokyo for Morgan Stanley. He traded high-yield bonds at Goldman, Sachs in New York. He arranged and invested in management buyouts at Seagate Capital Partners which he co-founded. Mr. Gates managed one of Seagate’s portfolio companies and sold it to a public, strategic buyer. He managed the corporate development activity of a public company engaged in the roll-up of an industry. He was CEO for five years of Clearwater Analytics, a software as a service (SaaS) provider of web-based investment portfolio reporting. Mr. Gates is a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College and a graduate of Harvard Business School.
